If you have questions about home building with PITTSBUILT Design & Construct, read through our FAQs to get the information you need. If you have questions you do not see answered here, don’t hesitate to get in touch. Our team will be happy to speak with you in regard to the full range of our services so you can make a fully informed decision about every aspect of your home’s design and construction. We look forward to hearing from you!
A: The cost comparison is actually very close when it comes to buying and building but you cannot replace the customisation afforded to you if you build from scratch. You will get to personalise your home from the floor plan all the way down to the smaller details, such as tiles, colour and kitchen choices. The overall cost you can expect to pay will vary widely depending on the plans and the design features you choose.
A: This question has a highly variable answer. On average, the time it takes to build a house can range from a couple of months to 4 months depending on the size and other factors. That said, the time it takes can change considerably for large and more elaborate homes. When we have our consultation to decide on your floorplan, we will also discuss the proposed timeline of your home’s construction.
A: By having one company manage your design, construction and finishing work, you will eliminate the multiple points of contacts and any associated confusion. Since we handle everything in house we will be familiar with every aspect of your project so we can immediately answer questions and provide information as needed. We can also make changes if desired without the run around of having to contact multiple other people for approval.
A: We have a team of trusted subcontractors who we hire on a consistent basis. We only hire companies we know and trust and only for select jobs, we still oversee everything every step of the way. We will still be your only point of contact during the process so you won’t have to worry about managing multiple contractors yourself.
A: In general, there is nothing we can’t do. However, in some cases, certain projects may require additional approval from local building departments. Removing some walls and other fixtures can prove more difficult if they are supporting the house, if lines are connected with active utilities and other similar issues, in those cases we may need to contact the relevant trades or companies for help, which can affect what you can expect to pay for your renovations. That’s why we come to your home to consult with you before coming up with a thorough plan and offering a quote.
